Statement

On the morning of Sunday, December 8, 2024, a new chapter in Syria’s history began, as its courageous people prepare to move forward into the future with determination and hope. This day marks the beginning of a new era of building and prosperity, following more than half a century of injustice and tyranny. With the collapse of the reign of oppression, the Syrian people, in all their components, stand at the threshold of a new era in which they will strive for justice and freedom.

Today, the Syrian people have the opportunity to rebuild their country based on the values of freedom and equality, within a secular, democratic, and pluralistic state that embraces all its citizens without exception. Together, in cooperation with all political and social forces, we will work to draft a modern and progressive constitution that reflects Syria’s ancient history and its esteemed place in the world.

This moment marks the beginning of a better future, and it is our collective responsibility, both as individuals and political parties, to build Syria for the future. As the Assyrian Democratic Party, we affirm our full commitment to working side by side with our partners in the nation to strengthen Syria’s unity and protect the rights of all its citizens, with a particular focus on securing our national rights in the new constitution.

We call on all Syrians to preserve the institutions of the Syrian state and ensure the stability of civil peace, as we all work together for a free and democratic Syria, governed by justice and equality.

We congratulate the Syrian people on their victory in the battle for freedom and dignity, and we look forward to building the Syria of the future that our upcoming generations deserve.
