The Assyrian Democratic Party expresses its deep sorrow and regret over the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, who, throughout his papacy, was a global voice for peace and social justice, and a steadfast advocate for human rights and the dignity of all peoples.

The late Pope was a symbol of interfaith harmony, a strong proponent of dialogue and tolerance in a world increasingly marked by division and extremism. His courageous positions and profound humanity served as a source of inspiration to millions, and a beacon of moral values in both politics and society.

In this great loss, the Assyrian Democratic Party extends its heartfelt condolences to the Catholic Church around the world, and to all members of our people in the Chaldean Catholic Church and the Syriac Catholic Church, who have lost a spiritual father and a great faith leader. We reaffirm our solidarity with them in this historic moment that marks the end of an era of a spiritual leader who left a profound impact on the conscience of humanity.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his great humanitarian legacy live on.
