The leadership of the Assyrian Democratic Party extends its highest congratulations to the Catholic Church around the world on the occasion of the election of His Holiness the new Pope. We pray to God to grant him success in his spiritual and humanitarian mission, and that his election marks the beginning of a new era of peace, justice, and the promotion of coexistence among peoples.

We, in the Assyrian Democratic Party, highly value the vital role played by the Catholic Church in defending human rights, and we stress the importance of its role in protecting the indigenous communities of the Middle East—foremost among them the Assyrian people—who have long faced displacement and forced migration from their historical homeland as a result of wars, unrest, and discrimination.

We hope this event serves as an opportunity to strengthen the Church’s presence in matters of social peace, the protection of indigenous components, and joint action with national and humanitarian forces to halt the bleeding of migration and ensure peoples’ right to a dignified life in states that guarantee citizenship, justice, and pluralism.

In conclusion, we reaffirm our constant readiness to cooperate with the Church and its institutions in all matters that serve peace and the rights of peoples, and we wish the Catholic Church and His Holiness success in serving all of humanity.
