التطلعات الآشورية لسوريا جديدة
ٌمتد وجود الشعب اآلشوري فً سورٌا إلى آالف السنٌن وٌرتبط بها ارتباطا وثٌقا، مترجما بارتباط اسمها باسمه، وٌمثل جزءا
أساسٌا وأصٌال من النسٌج الوطنً السوري، وساهم بشكل فعّال فً إنجاز وبناء نهضتها مع كافة مكونات المجتمع السوري ومع
ذلك ال ٌزال ٌزال ٌعانً من الظلم والتهمٌش، وإنكار هوٌته ووجوده القومً.
إ ّن شعبنا ممث قومً ّال بحركته القومٌة فً سورٌا التً هً جزء من الحركة الوطنٌة الدٌمقراطٌة فً سورٌا، ٌؤمن بتالزم العمل ال
والوطنً، وٌدرك أ ّن نٌل حقوقه، ال ٌمكن أن ٌتحقق بمعزل عن ح ّل وطنً دٌمقراطً عادل لمسألة التعدد القومً.
ومن أجل أن ٌكون الشعب اآلشوري شرٌكا فاعال فً عملٌة التغٌٌر الوطنً الدٌمقراطً، وفً بناء سورٌا المستقبل، ومن أجل
اإلقرار بوجوده القومً واإلنسانً وضمان كافة حقوقه القومٌة والوطنٌة فً سورٌا فاننا نؤمن و نعمل على ما ٌلً:
أوال: المبادئ العامة:
– إ ّن الشعب اآلشوري الذي ٌعٌش على أرضه التارٌخٌة منذ آالف السنٌن، له الحق فً الوجود القومً الح ّر،
وتنمٌة خصوصٌته القومٌة بالتساوي مع بقٌة القومٌات فً الوطن .
– تعرٌف شعبنا االشوري بداللة هوٌته القومٌة اآلشورٌة ولٌس بصفته الدٌنٌة أو المذهبٌة.
– نبذ كل أشكال العنف واإلرهاب، ورفض كل أنواع التع ّصب والتط ّرف واالستعالء القومً والدٌنً
– االلتزام بكافة المواثٌق الدولٌة المتعلقة بحقوق اإلنسان والشعوب األصٌلة.
ثانٌا: األهداف:
-1 على المستوى القومً:
– اإلقرار الدستوري بالشعب اآلشوري كشعب أصٌل فً سورٌا، وضمان كافة حقوقه السٌاسٌة والثقافٌة واإلدارٌة،
واعتبار اللغة والثقافة اآلشورٌة، لغة وثقافة وطنٌة، وذلك فً إطار وحدة سورٌا أرضا وشعبا
– ضمان حق التمثٌل العادل لشعبنا فً السلطات التشرٌعٌة والتنفٌذٌة والقضائٌة
-2 على المستوى الوطنً:
– الحفاظ على وحدة سورٌا ارضا وشعبا
– بناء دولة علمانٌة دٌمقراطٌه تعددٌه دولة الحق والقانون والمؤسسات
– ترسٌخ مبدأ الشراكة الوطنٌة، وتعزٌز قٌم المواطنة والعٌش المشترك بٌن أبناء الشعب السوري
– اإلقرار الدستوري بحالة التنوع القومً والثقافً والدٌنً واللغوي فً البالد.
– بناء هوٌة وطنٌة سورٌة عصرٌة وجامعة، تنهل من واقع التعدد القومً والثقافً فً البالد.
ثالثا: دورنا فً الساحة السورٌة:
العمل والتواصل مع مختلف القوى واألحزاب الوطنٌة والحركات الدٌمقراطٌة فً سورٌا والبحث معها عن مخارج
وطنٌة سٌاسٌة لألزمة السورٌة الراهنة انطالقا من الثوابت التالٌة :
– إنهاء احتكار الحزب الواحد للسلطة واالنتقال بسورٌا إلى دولة دٌمقراطٌة علمانٌة تعددٌه
– نبذ العنف بكل أنواعه و اسالٌبه ورفض كل مظاهر التسلح
– رفض كل أشكال التحرٌض قومٌا كانت ام طائفٌا ام مذهبٌا
– رفض أي تدخل عسكري خارجً فً األزمة السورٌة
– محاربة االرهاب بكافة اشكاله الفكرٌة والتنظٌمٌة والدٌنٌة
رابعا: رؤٌتنا بخصوص مناطق تواجد الشعب اآلشوي فً سورٌا
أهم تجمعات الشعب اآلشوري فً سورٌا هً منطقة الجزٌرة السورٌة حٌث ٌتو ّزع اآلشورٌون بمجموعات متجانسة فً مناطق
حوض الخابور ومدٌنة الحسكة ومدٌنة القامشلً ومدٌنة المالكٌة والقحطانٌة وراس العٌن. وتضم هذه المناطق مجموعات من
مختلف القومٌات، حٌث تعتبر الٌوم مح ّط : نقاش حول مركزٌتها أو عدم مركزٌتها، لذلك، نعلن رؤٌتنا بخصوص ذلك كما ٌلً
إننا نؤٌد وندعم الالمركزٌة اإلدارٌة وال نش ّجع على الالمركزٌة السٌاسٌة،
وفً الحالتٌن نعارض قٌام أي كٌانات أو كونتونات قومٌة ضمن أي المركزٌة،
وضمن الالمركزٌة اإلدارٌة، من حق الشعب االشوري التمتع بإدارات محلٌة فً اماكن تواجده كً ٌتمكن من الحفاظ على
خصائصه الثقافٌة والقومٌة ضمن الشراكة الوطنٌة الحقٌقٌة.

Assyrian Aspirations for a New Syria
The presence of the Assyrian people in Syria extends back thousands of years. Their name, that of “Assyrian” gave the region and eventually the country not only its name but it character. In more recent times, Assyrians were central to the birth and flowering of the nation of Syria, a “Renaissance” after centuries of domination by foreign powers. Despite this great legacy, Assyrians presently suffer from oppression, marginalization and the denial of their unique, ethnic identity.
The Assyrian people are represented by their national movement in Syria, which in turn is part of the national democratic movement in Syria. They believe in the coexistence of all peoples is Syria, and understand that attainment of their rights cannot be achieved outside of a just, national democratic solution concerning to Syria’s need to balance its ethnic plurality.
In order for the Assyrian people to be an effective partner in the process of national democratic change, as well as building the Syria of the future, one in which human and ethnic rights are guarded for all Syrians, we, the Assyrian Democratic Party, declare the following general principles and goals:
General principles:
• The Assyrian people, who have lived on their historical land for thousands of years, have the right to a free and unmolested existence, living and worshiping freely within their ethnic identity, while in harmony and equality with the other ethnicities in the nation.
• The definition of our Assyrian people is one grounded in the historical, Assyrian ethnicity, and not in some religious or sectarian characterization.
• The Assyrian people denounce all forms of violence and terrorism, and reject all forms of ethnic and religious intolerance, extremism and assertions of superiority in the same by any group or faction.
• The Assyrian people are committed to all international treaties relating to human rights and the rights of indigenous peoples.
Goals:
1-Goals specific to the ethnic identity of the Assyrian people:

• To achieve the constitutional validation of the Assyrian people as an indigenous people in Syria; the guarantee of all their political, cultural, and administrative rights; the consideration of the Assyrian language and culture as a national language and culture in the framework of the unity of Syria in its land and people
• To guarantee of the right to fair representation of our people in the legislative, executive, and judicial authorities

2-Goals specific to the well-being of the nation of Syria:

• To maintain the unity of Syria in its land and people
• To build a pluralistic, democratic, secular state, one grounded in the rule of law with equal representation within all its institutions.
• To establish the principle of national participation and strengthening the values of citizenship and coexistence among the children of the Syrian people.
• To constitutionally validate the state of ethnic, cultural, religious, and linguistic diversity in the nation of Syria.
• To build a universal, contemporary Syrian national identity that draws on the state of ethnic and cultural pluralism throughout the nation.

Our role on the Syrian arena:

To work and communicate with the various powers, national parties, and democratic movements in Syria and to discuss with them the requisite current national political outlets, starting with the following fundamentals:
• Ending the one-party monopoly of authority and transitioning Syria to a pluralist, secular, democratic state
• Denouncing violence of all types and methods and rejecting all manifestations of armament
• Rejecting all forms of agitation whether ethnic, sectarian or religious
• Rejecting any foreign military intervention in the Syrian crisis
• Fighting terrorism in all its ideological, organizational and religious forms
Assyrian People in Syria
The most important communities of Assyrian people in Syria are located in the Syrian Peninsula region, with Assyrians spread in homogenous communities throughout the areas of Al Khabur Basin, the city of Al Hasaka, the city of Al Qamishli, the city of Al Malikiya, Al Qahtaniya, and Ras al Ayn. These areas are comprised of communities of various ethnicities. Their lack of centralization is an important characteristic in their makeup and function. As such, we endorse and support administrative non-centralization but do not encourage political non-centralization. In either case, we oppose the establishment of any ethnic entities or cantons. Also, we affirm that it is the right of the Assyrian people to enjoy local policies, drawn from and passed in accordance with the areas in which they live, to preserve their ethnic and cultural characteristics as part of the great, national whole.
