وقفة تضامنية في شيكاغو دعماً لحقوق شعبنا الآشوري في آشور (شمال العراق وسهل نينوى)

نظّم الحزب الآشوري الديمقراطي – فرع الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، بالتعاون مع متحدون من أجل آشور، وقفة احتجاجية تضامنية يوم الأربعاء الموافق 29 تموز/يوليو 2026 في مدينة شيكاغو بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، تضامناً مع أبناء شعبنا الآشوري في آشور (شمال العراق وسهل نينوى)، وضد السياسات الامريكية في العراق ومساندتها للقوى المسيطرة والتي تمارس الاغتصاب والاستيلاء على املاك واراضي شعبنا الاشوري ومطالبةً بتحقيق العدالة ووضع حدٍ للتعديات المتمثلة باغتصاب والاستيلاء على القرى والأراضي العائدة لشعبنا، وصون حقوقه التاريخية والقومية المشروعة.

وجاءت هذه الوقفة استجابةً للدعوة التي أطلقتها أحزابنا القومية الآشورية في شمال العراق، وتأكيداً على الوقوف إلى جانب أبناء شعبنا في الوطن، ودعماً للوقفة الاحتجاجية التي شهدتها مدينة دهوك دفاعاً عن الأرض والحقوق، وانطلاقاً من مسؤولية أبناء المهجر في مساندة نضالات شعبهم وإيصال صوتهم إلى الرأي العام الدولي، بما يسهم في فضح الانتهاكات التي يتعرض لها شعبنا وحشد الدعم لقضيته العادلة.

وانطلاقاً من الحرص على بلورة موقف قومي موحد، وُجِّهت الدعوة إلى مختلف مؤسسات شعبنا القومية والروحية للمشاركة في الاجتماعات التحضيرية والتنظيمية الخاصة بهذه الوقفة. وقد شارك ممثلو بعض المؤسسات في المراحل الأولى من التحضير، إلا أنهم انسحبوا تباعاً من المشاركة دون تقديم مبررات واضحة أو إعلان موقف للرأي العام، باستثناء ما طرحه البعض من تخوفات من أن يؤدي هذا التحرك التضامني إلى إحداث إشكالات لأبناء شعبنا في الوطن.

وإزاء ذلك، يؤكد منظمو الوقفة أن أبناء شعبنا في الوطن كانوا السبّاقين إلى رفع صوتهم والخروج في احتجاجات سلمية دفاعاً عن أرضهم وحقوقهم، وأن الواجب القومي والأخلاقي يقتضي الوقوف إلى جانبهم ومساندة نضالهم، لا التردد في دعمهم. كما أن التضامن السلمي المشروع مع مطالب شعبنا العادلة يجسد وحدة المصير بين أبناء الشعب الواحد في الوطن والمهجر، ويؤكد أن الدفاع عن الحقوق التاريخية والقومية مسؤولية مشتركة لا تقبل التهاون أو التأجيل.

إن ما يتعرض له شعبنا الآشوري من انتهاكات وتعديات ممنهجة على أرضه وحقوقه التاريخية يستوجب موقفاً قومياً موحداً وفاعلاً، وتكثيف الجهود السياسية والقانونية والإعلامية على المستويين الوطني والدولي، بما يضمن وقف هذه التجاوزات وإنصاف أصحاب الحق، وترسيخ حقوق شعبنا القومية والتاريخية على أرضه.

وفي ختام الوقفة، يتقدم الحزب الآشوري الديمقراطي ومتحدون من أجل آشور بخالص الشكر والتقدير إلى جميع أبناء شعبنا، وإلى المؤسسات والشخصيات الوطنية وكل من لبّى الدعوة وشارك في هذا التحرك القومي السلمي، مؤكدين أن هذه الوقفة ليست سوى محطة من مسيرة نضالية متواصلة، وأن الدفاع عن أرض آشور وحقوق شعبنا سيبقى واجباً قومياً ثابتاً حتى تتحقق العدالة، وتُصان حقوق شعبنا التاريخية والقومية، ويعيش حراً كريماً على أرضه.

بوحدة الموقف والإرادة… ننتصر لقضية شعبنا الآشوري ونصون حقوقه التاريخية في أرض آشور .

.Solidarity Rally in Chicago in Support of the Rights of Our Assyrian People in Assyria (Northern Iraq and the Nineveh Plain)

The Assyrian Democratic Party – United States Branch, in cooperation with United for Assyria, organized a solidarity protest on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in Chicago, Illinois, USA, in support of our Assyrian people in Assyria (Northern Iraq and the Nineveh Plain). The demonstration also protested U.S. policies in Iraq and their support for the dominant forces that continue to usurp and seize the lands and properties of our Assyrian people. The participants called for justice, demanded an end to the ongoing confiscation of Assyrian villages and lands, and reaffirmed the need to safeguard the legitimate historical and national rights of our people.

This rally came in response to the call issued by our Assyrian national parties in Northern Iraq and reaffirmed our solidarity with our people in the homeland. It was also an expression of support for the protest held in the city of Duhok in defense of our land and rights, reflecting the responsibility of Assyrians in the diaspora to stand alongside their people, amplify their voice before the international community, expose the violations committed against them, and mobilize support for their just cause.

With the aim of fostering a unified national position, invitations were extended to the various national and ecclesiastical institutions of our people to participate in the preparatory and organizational meetings for this rally. Representatives of some institutions participated during the initial stages of the preparations but subsequently withdrew without providing clear explanations or making their position known publicly. The only concern expressed by some was that such a solidarity initiative might create difficulties for our people living in the homeland.

In response, the organizers emphasized that our people in the homeland were the first to raise their voices and take to the streets in peaceful protest to defend their land and rights. They stressed that national and moral responsibility requires standing firmly beside them and supporting their struggle, rather than hesitating to do so. Peaceful solidarity with the legitimate demands of our people reflects the unity of destiny between Assyrians in the homeland and the diaspora and reaffirms that defending our historical and national rights is a shared responsibility that cannot be postponed or neglected.

The systematic violations and encroachments targeting the land and historical rights of our Assyrian people demand a united and effective national response, together with intensified political, legal, and media efforts at both the national and international levels. Such efforts are essential to halt these injustices, secure justice for the rightful owners, and affirm our people’s historical and national rights on their ancestral homeland.

At the conclusion of the rally, the Assyrian Democratic Party and United for Assyria expressed their sincere appreciation and gratitude to all members of our people, to the national institutions, patriotic figures, and everyone who answered the call and participated in this peaceful national action. They affirmed that this rally is only one step in an ongoing national struggle and that defending the land of Assyria and the rights of our people will remain a steadfast national duty until justice is achieved, our historical and national rights are fully protected, and our people are able to live in freedom and dignity on their ancestral land.

With unity of purpose and determination, we will uphold the cause of our Assyrian people and safeguard their historical rights in the land of Assyria.
